NFP Friday – July Nonfarm Payrolls 2023

The U.S. Bureau of Labour Statistics will release its July nonfarm payrolls (NFP) report on Friday. Reports suggest that U.S. employers hired 200,000 workers last month after adding 209,000 jobs in June. With this result, the jobless rate is seen holding steady at 3.6%, indicating that the labour market remains extremely tight.

ADP reported on Wednesday that the US domestic labour market added an estimated 324K positions in July. The economic data outperformed expectations of 189K but remained lower than employment additions in June of 497K.

Federal Reserve (Fed) policymakers may now consider a continuation of the rate-tightening cycle at its September policy meeting.

The gold price (XAUUSD) is looking fragile and struggles to sustain above the immediate support of $1,930.00.
