U.S Inflation Print Coming Today

U.S. Inflation Print Coming Today

European stock markets nudged higher at Friday’s open, ahead of the U.S. inflation print coming in the afternoon.

The European Central Bank policymakers have this week suggested more interest rate hikes are necessary but may come at a slower pace. The ECB hiked by 50 basis points in March. Will there be more implied when ECB President Lagarde Speaks today?

The U.S. Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index is closely watched by the Federal Reserve, and investors are seeking direction on the path of interest rates after recent market turmoil.

Core PCE is expected to stay at 4.7% year-on-year while rising 0.4% in February (MoM). The headline is seen increasing by 0.2% in February, and a slowdown in the annual rate from 5.4% to 5.3%.
